The Matrix trilogy is one of the hallmarks in sci-fi & philosophical fiction. The trilogy entertained its fans with breathtaking action sequences, all the while asking questions about the nature of our reality & authority.

Keanu Reeves is returning as Neo in the upcoming Warner Bros. project, The Matrix Resurrections. While the first trailer for the project established that both Keanu Reeves & Carrie-Anne Moss have reprised their roles, the freshly-released second trailer has teased the return of Agent Smith as well as new powers in Neo.

The Matrix is set 20 years after the events of the last film. Somehow, Neo is back in the matrix, living a life as Thomas A. Anderson in San Francisco. Both Morpheus and Trinity reach out to him again, unravelling who he is and what road must he take ahead for himself.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Daniel Bernhardt and Lambert Wilson are other actors returning to reprise their roles in the upcoming film. Meanwhile, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Christina Ricci will fill other roles both old and new in Matrix Resurrections.

Writer/director Lana Wachowski had previously declined to create another sequel in the series. However, she co-wrote Resurrections with her sister Lilly Wachowski and pitched it to Warner Bros. The film is expected to release next month.
