Madonna has had an illustrious career and there aren’t many who can come close to her, but even she has some regrets that she wishes she never passed up on.
The 63-year-old pop star revealed on an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she turned down a role in the hit cult classic movie, The Matrix.
“Can you believe that?” Madonna said. “That’s like one of the best movies ever made. A teeny-tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life.”
The Matrix was released in 1999 and tells the story of hacker Neo who gets stuck inside a simulated reality. The movie has won a number of accolades and still has a strong fan following to this day.
Madonna also revealed that she also missed out on starring in Batman Returns as Catwoman and a leading role in Showgirls. She, however, only regrets the former. “I saw them both and I regret that I turned down Catwoman, that was pretty fierce,” she said. “Showgirls? No.”
Madonna is currently directing a movie which is based on her life. The name and release date have not been announced yet.
