Terrance “Gangsta” Williams, the half-brother of Cash Money Records co-founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Wiliams, was distributing heroin and planning murders when an FBI wiretap caught him. He was arrested and was confined for life. Fortunately, after allegedly cooperating with the feds, the Birdman’s brother was released from a life sentence.

Birdman and his brother have reconciled. Terrance “Gangsta” Williams was freed earlier this month from federal prison after serving more than 20 years on a life sentence for distributing heroin and plotting murders.

According to NOLA.com, Williams was a member of the “Hot Boys,” a Louisiana street gang that inspired the name of Cash Money’s platinum-selling group, which includes Lil Wayne, Turk, Juvenile, and Christopher “B.G.” Dorsey.

Williams pleaded guilty to a continuous criminal enterprise and solicitation for murder a year after the Hot Boys debuted in 1997. He was apprehended plotting to assassinate a group of New York drug dealers in New Orleans in order to receive payment for heroin delivered to his associate. The package was intercepted by the feds, who wiretapped Williams as he devised a murder plot. He was given a sentence of life + 20 years.

A judge resentenced him to 27 and a half years in prison last month. Williams was released on Jan. 3 at the age of 47, although the reason for his release is unknown. Townsend Myers, Williams’ attorney, confirmed the decreased sentence but did not provide an explanation. The records have been ordered to be sealed by a judge.

Following his detention, he may be released as a consequence of his cooperation with the government. According to court documents, he provided “substantial assistance” in obtaining guilty pleas from co-defendants.

“The defendant also provided information to the state authorities regarding a number of murders and urged persons who had witnessed murders to come forward as witnesses and contact the others.”

So, finally, Williams is out of imprisonment. But it is unclear what is the reason. Even Williams’s attorney didn’t disclose the fact. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
