Kyrie Irving left the Boston Celtics behind after only playing two seasons for the team. The notoriously tough Boston fans never forget. During last night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Celtics, the Boston faithful let Kyrie Irving know.

Amid the Nets 126-120 loss to Boston, fans began chanting “Kyrie Sucks!” Kyrie performed reasonably well in the game, dropping 19 points to go with 6 assists and 4 rebounds. That was not enough to win over the fans of his old team.

The controversial guard talked about the heckling after the game. Irving said that Celtics fans were acting like scored girlfriends. Kyrie said he is not going to be giving much of a response, according to TMZ Sports. Irving would prefer to do his trash talking on the court.

“It’s like the scorned girlfriend who wants an explanation on why I left, but still hoping for a text back. I’m just like, ‘It was fun while it lasted.'”

Celtics fans have been booing Kyrie Irving every time he returns to Boston. They want to make sure that he knows they’re not pleased with the way he left their team. Kyrie is letting it slide off his back.

The chants probably didn’t have much of an effect on the outcome. The Celtics did pick up the win in the end. Boston fans got to go home happy and they got to yell at Kyrie Irving. It was a perfect night out for Celtics fans.
