The Weeknd has amassed great success with the release of his recent album FM. However, he isn’t limiting his talents to music as he has been seen making appearances on the big screen. This time she has secured himself a cameo in The Simpsons show.

On Sunday, March 6, The Weeknd announced on Twitter that he’s starring in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. He shared the big news by confirming a report from a fan account while writing, “proud of this one.” The star will voice a character called Orion Hughes in “Bart the Cool Kid” episode number 15 of the 33rd season.

This episode will also have guest stars like Michael Rapaport as food truck owner Mike Wegman. The Weeknd has been slowly expanding into the world of film and TV in recent years. He has made cameos in Uncut Gems, American Dad! and Robot Chicken.

The Weeknd first put his Simpsons dreams in the air during a 2020 interview with Variety following his cameo on American Dad! He is particularly fond of Homer Simpsons’ former nemesis and Springfield Nuclear Power Plant colleague Frank Grimes. With American Dad, the singer has also entered the animation domain.

In the episode of American Dad, we find the Starboy singer being abducted by Stan Smith in an attempt to teach Roger a lesson. However, Roger switched places with The Weeknd, who was then forced to save the day. He funnily did so by unleashing his “virginal powers” while fending off Hayley’s sexual advances.

It’s not very often people get to work on their favorite shows let alone starring in them. Since this opportunity has been presented to The Weekend, he will make sure that he gives it the best shot. The episode will air on March 2o.
