A normal Saturday afternoon in Metairie, Louisiana became a tragedy as a suspect shot dead two people and injured others at the Jefferson Gun Outlet. 

According to a report by The Associated Press, the suspect in question was also killed in the encounter. The first shooter, a customer at the gun store and range, fired the first shots inside the store, hitting two people who ultimately died due to wounds sustained.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto spoke to the Associated Press, where he stated that many individuals went after the shooter and fired shots both inside and outside of the building, resulting in the death of the shooter.

Three people lost their lives during the shootout and two more were shot as well, but they are currently hospitalized in stable condition. Lopinto also said:

“We’re trying to put it all together, piece it together,”

As reported by NBC, it all started after a customer entered the gun outlet with a loaded gun that was unholstered. After that the man got into a heated argument with a store clerk, who told him not to have a loaded gun until he was in the outlet’s range. 

More details regarding the incident have yet to be given out.
