John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and is viewed as one of the true GOATs of professional wrestling now. He returned on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW and immediately set up a huge WrestleMania 39 match. After his appearance, Cena made a cryptic post which made fans believe he was going to retire. Now it seems Cena cleared the air about the tweet.

On last week’s episode of WWE RAW, John Cena made a highly-anticipated comeback and was visibly emotional upon hearing the cheers from the live crowd. He got into a heated promo with Austin Theory and eventually agreed to face him in a blockbuster match at WrestleMania 39.

Although many expected John Cena to promote his upcoming WrestleMania 39 match and express gratitude towards his fans, his demeanor upon entering the ring was quite different.

Cena appeared to be emotionally moved as he made his way into the arena and took a moment to absorb his surroundings. Additionally, Cena was met with enthusiastic adoration and affection from his hometown supporters.

The 16-time World champion took to Twitter and claimed that he felt it may be his last time in front of the WWE universe when he entered the arena and poured out his love for the fans.

“Last night was the first time I entered the arena and had the thought that it might be the last time. I’ll never be able to put into words how much I love the #WWEUniverse.”

This led fans to believe he was going to retire soon. While speaking with AP News, the Leader of Cenation explained the tweet and his intention behind it. Cena made it clear he has no intention of retiring.

“I tried to put it in words in Twitter. I guess I didn’t explain myself correctly. It was the first time I came out into the arena knowing that this has a definitive end. Normally, you come out, you get all excited, OK, this is the next one and I’m waiting for the next one. I’m not done, of course. I made that statement accepting a match at WrestleMania so I know I have at least one more in front of me. But what I was trying to convey was, that was the first time I looked at all that excitement and energy and realized this is the twilight of that journey.”

As previously reported, John Cena produced the aforementioned segment himself, as the company trusted him to properly produce the whole segment. We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Cena and Theory’s feud in the coming weeks. After all, fans are looking forward to seeing Cena compete at the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
