Sam Asghari and Britney Spears married last summer in a small wedding in California on June 9. The couple met on the set of Britney’s Slumber Party music video in 2016 and have been together since. Throughout their love story, Sam has been a steadfast partner and supporter of Britney. Britney has been the subject of several controversies recently and this latest sequence of events comes just over a year after Britney’s 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. Sam Asghari recently responded to reports that Britney Spears’ friends planned an intervention for her on February 10th.

Britney’s husband assured fans in a statement to Access Hollywood’s Mario Lopez that she is in complete control. He also asked followers to refrain from openly discussing her health. Sam’s comments came a day after it was reported that those close to the ‘Hold Me Closer’ singer were planning a meeting with her.

“An intervention did not occur. My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately,” he told the outlet. People and TMZ both reported that people close to the popstar were organizing an intervention before her husband spoke out.

According to the outlet, an intervention and another treatment plan for Britney were cancelled when she became “somewhat aware.” Britney responded to the news with a long post on Instagram. “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough,” she wrote. “As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read!”

It’s not the first time the ‘Toxic’ singer has retaliated against reporters or fans who speculate about her health. She moved to Instagram when admirers called a welfare check to her house to alert them they had gone too far. “This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media,” she said.

During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward.

The comment also came a little more than a week after Britney called out Alyssa Milano after the actress tweeted asking for someone to check on the singer. In a statement Alyssa’s rep disclosed that she had personally reached out to Britney to apologize. Keep an eye on Thirsty for the most latest updates.
