Logan Paul has achieved fame as both a YouTuber and professional boxer and has continued to gain popularity since his debut in WrestleMania 38. He had several notable matches throughout 2022, with his match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel being particularly noteworthy, solidifying his status as a breakout star. Following the match, speculation began to circulate that he may face John Cena at the upcoming WrestleMania. However, that match will no longer be taking place due to Logan Paul’s inexperience.
During his match with Roman Reigns, Logan Paul suffered an injury, specifically when he executed a high-risk move to the outside and landed directly on his knee. He is currently on the road to recovery after tearing his MCL, having already undergone surgery for the same.
As previously reported, Logan Paul will likely be medically cleared before WrestleMania 39. In fact, reports had also suggested that Logan Paul vs John Cena is the current plan for WrestleMania 39.
That being said, that is no longer happening now. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE decided to change plans for Paul and not have him face Cena simply because of the time it would have taken for Paul to get ready for the match.
The worry about Logan Paul is, the feeling is you need lots and lots and lots of practice and John Cena doesn’t have the time to do that practice. Cena can go with Theory and Theory is experienced enough, so they don’t need lots and lots of practice to have a decent match.
WWE’s actual plans will see Cena face Austin Theory at the Show of Shows instead, so a match with Logan Paul seems unlikely now. Regardless, we’ll have to see what WWE will have planned for Logan Paul.
