Dua Lipa and DaBaby made a hit dance number called “Levitating.” While the song and the remixes were absolute bangers, it did garner a lot of controversy following DaBaby’s comments about HIV AIDS. Interestingly, DaBaby’s verse on the song was worth a whopping $350k.

Stunna 4 Vegas is signed to DaBaby’s label ‘Billion Dollar Baby.’ The rapper sat down with VladTV for an interview and he had some insights about the finances of the verse. According to Stunna, DaBaby got $350,000 last year for appearing on Dua Lipa’s “Levitating (Remix).”

It was all good during the making of the original song but soon after, DaBaby was “cancelled” for his comments about HIV AIDS patients and the LGBTQ+ community. This gave Dua Lipa a bad rap with the LGBTQ+ community, who are a good chunk of her audience. However, no publicity is bad publicity as both artists continue to make a lot of cash with the song.

Dua Lipa decided to publicly condemn DaBaby after the controversy blew up. Dua disapproved of his comments and said she was “surprised and horrified” at her collaborator’s words. Since then, she has distanced herself from DaBaby.

DaBaby remains a controversial rapper, the attempts to cancel him have continued. His feud with his baby mama Danileigh has also caught negative attention. However, he still manages to gain popularity and retain his large fan base.

“Levitating” is also embroiled in a lawsuit from a reggae band. The song continues to cost Dua Lipa a lot of money. To be fair, it is also what made her a leading popstar. Keep an eye on Thirsty for more updates on Dua Lipa and DaBaby.
