Benzino and Coi LeRay’s family feud is still going strong over social media. For months, as LeRay prepared to release her debut record, the father and daughter have been the subject of speculation. Trendsetter, by Coi LeRay, debuted on April 8th, but it didn’t stop the family members from arguing in public.
Benzino tweeted about weirdos commenting about his relationship with daughter. This was quite a hot take that generated some reaction.
“[What] makes you weirdos think you could ever tell me or have an opinion about me and my daughter? Think about what type of mental illness one must have to do that. Y’all entire lives will be wasted commenting on sh-t you don’t know. Smh what type of mind and life is that?”
Leray clapped back: “You want me to post these screenshots of what you said to me? Or you wanna just chill or go get help? Lmk.”
Benzino almost cost Coi LeRay the chance to have a Nicki Minaj story on Trendsetter in February. The cooperation was ruined before it was formally revealed by the former co-owner of The Source magazine. LeRay expressed her thoughts at the time telling her father to sit down and keep quiet.
Coi LeRay chose to call out her own father on Twitter as Benzino was taking aim at trolls online. Zino elicited a response from her via Twitter.
I’mma need you to sit the f-ck down, grab you some popcorn, enjoy the show, and clap for me when it’s time to clap for me. Alright, Daddy? Don’t worry. I told him this before I hopped online.
The song “Blick Blick!” by Coi LeRay and Nicki Minaj did make it onto the album. During its three-week run on the Billboard Hot 100, the single reached #37. Trendsetter, on the other hand, only made it to #89 on the Billboard 200.
Benzino also addressed his relationship with his daughter as a result of the reported low sales for Trendsetter. Coi LeRay’s debut album, which debuted with less than 20,000 first-week units, was mocked on the @iambenzino Instagram feed. Benzino, on the other hand, maintained that he does not manage that account. Check out the tweet below.
