Rubi Rose has done some questionable things while performing. She has thrown up gang signs on the stage making people think she’s a gang member. Now she has revealed that she throws gang signs because it’s cute.

Rose appeared on the Big Facts podcast for an interview. She sat down with co-hosts Big Bank and DJ Scream on the podcast and opened up about her history. She admitted that despite constantly wearing red and occasionally throwing up blood gang signs, she is not a member of the gang.

“I’m not actually a gang member. I know that’s kind of like a joke on the internet. I was around gang members and I just like throwing their gang signs up because it’s cute. I love the color red. I’m in no way a gang member, though.”

Rubi said she loves wearing red because she loves the color. The rapper went on to explain that she has no affiliation to any gang but thinks gang signs are cute. She learned to throw gang signs when she was hanging around with some of Blood members.

The rapper went on to state that gangs are cool. However, she addressed the fact that what happens during a gang activities is certainly not praiseworthy. The color they represent, the hand signs, and the music are what she loves the most about the gangs.

“It’s cool. I know, like, what be going on isn’t cool. But, the colorful clothing and the hand signs, just being cool with the music. That stuff. Like, that stuff is cool to me. I hadn’t seen that before.”

The internet had a lot to say once the video was uploaded. “Rubi Rose saying she threw up gang signs because ‘its cute’ is so wild lmao, Mfs think this world a fairytale.” one Twitter user posted. “The intervener giving Rubi Rose hell for what b****es doing every day but whatever,” another person posted.

Rose released her debut mixtape For the Streets in December of 2020. She is currently working on the follow-up. In February, she put out her new single “I Like.” Now that she has cleared her fans about the matter, they would know there’s nothing to worry about when she throws gang signs on stage.
