Megan Thee Stallion has worked hard to earn a reputation as one of the best hip-hop artists in the world. Megan gained the adoration of her fans via her dedication and passion for her work. Furthermore, her supporters admire her courage in sticking to her guns. Megan The Stallion and Dua Lipa recently appeared on a podcast and discussed the concept of “Double Standards” in the music industry.

Following the release of their collaboration, “Sweetest Pie,” on Friday, The Stallion came on Dua Lia’s podcast, At Your Service. The two singers spoke on a variety of topics, including the music industry’s “double standards” in terms of how male and female performers are treated.

“I feel like that about the music industry in general. There’s this beautiful moment coming into music – as a whole – where female musicians are seen to lift each other up. And I think that’s really beautiful and important.”

Megan was then asked if she believes there is a double standard in the industry for men and women, to which Lipa replied.

“The one thing that I feel like that women and men that I find a large disparity is when we perform live, for example. And I’ve seen this a lot with reviews or whatever for concerts … I think we’re used to working double as hard in some ways. I feel like it’s instilled in us that we have to work really hard to be taken seriously.”

Megan was moved after listening to Dua Lipa. Even Megan had the same opinion regarding the double standard in the industry. She agreed with Lipa and added her opinion.

“It definitely is a crazy double standard. But I feel like — we’re girls, right? — and sometimes I just have to take it as everybody knows that we are superior, so they expect us to arrive as the superior beings that we are. I feel like we just get critiqued so heavy because everybody just knows that women are the shit so you just look at us to be the shit all the time.”

Megan and Dua Lipa discussed their perspectives on the music industry. Do you agree with them that the industry has a concept of a double standard? Besides this, did you experience the “Sweetest pie”? If not, just go and check below. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
