Kelly Stafford hasn’t always had the best relationship with NFL fans. Stafford was chastized for throwing a pretzel at a rival fan earlier in the season. Kelly frequently makes adversarial social media posts in an attempt to defend Matthew Stafford.

After Matthew and the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI, talk among fans jumped to whether Stafford had done enough to establish himself as a Hall of Famer. That is the highest praise a fan can give to a player. Kelly Stafford wasn’t here for it.

Instead of being thrilled to hear that fans think Matthew Stafford has already established himself as a Hall of Famer, Kelly attacked those fans in a post on her Instagram Story. Stafford said Matthew’s career isn’t over yet and there is plenty more to come. The comments came even though not one person speculated that he was going to retire.

“Can y’all just let him enjoy this?! It went from matthew can’t win to matthew can’t win against winning teams, to matthew can’t win big games, to matthew can’t win playoff games, to matthew can’t win at all…

And now… the debate on the HOF? We shouldn’t be talking about the HOF because he isn’t done playing after this game. If you don’t believe he is a HOFer.. I can’t wait for him to prove you wrong in his remaining years… just like he did IN ONE YEAR to everyone who said all the things listed above. So lets table this talk until he actually retires? Thank you.”

Most NFL players are never mentioned in the same breath as the Hall of Fame. Even if the majority of fans were saying Stafford isn’t HOF-worthy just yet, the fact that he is in the discussion should be an honor. Kelly Stafford doesn’t see it that way, and she had no qualms about letting the fans know it.
