NFL star Adrian Peterson was recently booked for felony domestic violence on Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport. However, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to charge Peterson.

According to TMZ Sports, Peterson’s case is still getting transferred to L.A. City Attorney. He could still be charged for misdemeanor domestic violence given what happens after they examine the case.

As for the specifics of his arrest, Peterson got into a disagreement with his wife, which led to him removing his wife’s wedding ring from her finger, causing her some minor bruises on her hand.

L.A. Airport Police responded to a call around 8:30 am local time on Sunday for “a verbal and physical altercation between a male suspect and a female victim.” As a result, Peterson, 36, was arrested and released Sunday afternoon on bond. He was reportedly given a $50,000 bail.

Peterson’s wife Ashley, though, took to Instagram defending her husband, saying, “At no point did Adrian hit or strike me.” She added, “Adrian and I had a verbal argument,” “Unfortunately, it was on an airplane.” She continued:

“This is a private matter between my husband and myself. We ask that everyone respect our privacy so we can focus on what matters most: our children.”

In an interview with Fox 26 Sports Peterson, addressed this issue, saying:

“Literally that’s why I went to jail,”

“Because the ring left a scratch on her finger.”

“We just had a disagreement.”

Fans have nothing to worry about now, as most questions regarding this arrest have been resolved and can breathe sigh for relief that the alleged altercation was not physical.
