Suge Knight might not be the most trustworthy person to listen to when it comes to reliable information. The gangsta rap legend turned jailbird has a lengthy rap sheet filled with violent offenses. That’s why some were skeptical about Suge’s claims in a recently resurfaced interview where he made some major accusations about Jay-Z.

Suge told Carson Daly in the 2001 clip that Jay-Z visited Los Angeles at some point earlier in his career. Hova was ostensibly working with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at the time. Suge Knight said that during his stay, Jay-Z was bound, gagged, and robbed.

One of Jay-Z’s close friends, Memphis Bleek, immediately responded to the controversy. There’s no truth whatsoever to the claim, Memph noted. The rapper said Suge Knight was a liar. Bleek shared a variety of cap emojis along with a simple comment.

“every cap in the world”

Suge Knight’s unreliable narrative should not be too surprising. Knight’s currently incarcerated for 28 years on a voluntary manslaughter charge, 22 years for a hit and run, and six years for a violation of a third-strike rule. Honesty doesn’t necessarily fit his nature.

It is not known why Suge Knight made up the story about Jay-Z. It could have been a vindictive rap feud. Suge could also have just been trying to make himself sound more involved with the underworld than he was. Either way, Memphis Bleek says the story is complete BS.
