Suge Knight is currently behind bars, but recently there have been rumors about him signing a deal on a biopic project. He life was an eventful one, and the story seems to change depending on who’s telling it. Now, Suge has finally addressed the issue.

Following his voluntary manslaughter conviction, Suge Knight was sentenced to prison. His stay behind bars hasn’t stopped him from printing money. There have been a lot of conversations lately around Suge selling his life rights for a biopic, but now some concrete information has come to light.

Deadline reports that Knight has partnered with Steve Whitney and his production company TSW films for a biopic project. The publication issued a statement informing that Knight has signed over his life rights for an upcoming biopic.

The rapper explained the developments around his life and also revealed why he chose to move forward with this particular company. Knight told Deadline:

“Over the last 30 years, there has been so much talk about Compton, me, the inner cities, and Death Row – A lot of talk. Even when it comes to making my movie there has been so many imposters saying they have my rights, or they got the deal – that was, and is, all talk, “I jumped off the porch in my neighborhood at a young age but never forgot where I came from. Most people try to ride for the hills, I made it and tried to bring as many people to the hills with me and feel that I was successful at it.” 

Whitney has focused his career around bringing true life stories to screen including, One Chance, The Haunting in Connecticut and The Amityville Horror remake. Now we will see him portray Suge’s life on screen. He also praised Suge’s contributions to music when he spoke to Deadline. He said, “During the golden era of rap and hip hop, all roads led through Suge Knight.”

At the moment there is no information regarding the film’s other aspects such as potential casting and scheduling. We will keep monitoring this story for future updates.
