Lil Uzi Vert is hitting us with some profound insight on his infamous and cryptic rap name. The chart-topping rapper had already disclosed “some guy” told him that he rapped fast and gave him his name. Now, it seems like there was more to it than just that.

In a 2016 interview with VIBE, Uzi said “Some guy was just like ‘you rap fast, man,” he said at the time. “Like a little machine gun’ and from that moment I was Lil Uzi”. Uzi has now revealed who the guy was.

During a livestream with some friends on Friday, December 10, Uzi noted “I got named by a crackhead,”. Uzi interjected the fact unexpectedly into the conversation just as the other guests talked about how they had discovered his music.

“He said you rapped fast?” asked one of the streamers, to which Uzi replied, “Yeah, yeah he’s a good guy.”. Uzi was streaming with Moe_tv, Mr Beast, Trainwreck, Devin Nash and Harley Plays on TWITCH.
