One Lil Uzi Vert fan is looking forward to see Woods at his upcoming graduation ceremony. The said fan has invited Lil Uzi as the rapper promised to pay his tuition fees.
The fan’s name is Raheel Ahmad whose Instagram handle is @bigassheel. Ahmad will graduate from Temple University in Uzi’s hometown of Philadelphia next January. The two previously crossed paths back in 2019, when Uzi imparted some added motivation upon the scholar.
In 2019, Uzi added some incentive and encouragement to keep Ahmad on the right track. Uzi promised to pay his tuition fees as a reward to Ahmad’s perseverance. Raheel recently shared a clip on TikTok and Instagram:
“The time has finally come. I’ve made it through the four years of Temple, graduating with a 3.5 GPA. I’m sure you all remember this video of me asking Lil Uzi Vert at the mall if he could help pay for my college tuition… I come from a big family and was raised by a single, widowed mother. Finances were always a struggle. After my dad passed away, we had to live paycheck to paycheck.”
Raheel asked Uzi about covering his tuition, to which Uzi replied affirmative. The said promise will be fulfilled after he graduates collage and seems like it’s about time. Reflecting on that day in his latest video, Raheel explained just how important Uzi’s words were to him and how they ultimately inspired him to graduate. In that clip, we can see Uzi saying,
“90 grand? I could pay for that. But this is the thing, though. If I pay for your college tuition, are you gonna finish college or are you gonna bullshit? If you don’t show me, you won’t get 90 grand. … You gotta show me proof.”
Raheel said that at King of Prussia mall on August 22nd, 2019, he was not in a good place mentally. But that one-minute interaction changed his life forever. Uzi was able to give him a sense of hope and optimism.
