The Kyle Rittenhouse trial was one of the most sensational and widely followed legal proceedings in recent times. Rittenhouse was involved in the Kenosha protests of 2019, where he gunned down two assailants and injured another.

Rittenhouse was deemed not guilty as per the verdict, which was seen as a huge win for conservative audiences, media pundits and politicians. The 19-year old even received a special day for his own appreciation, by none other than the Proud Boys of Utah.

The Proud Boys took to organizing a rally in the honor of Rittenhouse and his victory. ‘Kyle Rittenhouse Appreciation Rally,’ was held on Saturday afternoon at Washington Square Park in Salt Lake City.

A Facebook flyer asked the rallygoers to arrive armed, though the two-hour rally did not have any apparent armed members, according to Twitter photos. The event was also lorded as a celebration of 2nd amendment rights.

The rally was sponsored by conservative groups such as Stand Up For Your Constitutional Rights as well as other local groups from the area. The event asked their attendees to bring “bring banners, 2A flags, and freedom flags.” It was an event to celebrate “your rights to defend your cities.”
