Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to personally face a whopping $6 billion loss after Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were all down for several hours. However, Zuckerberg took to apologizing for the outages via Facebook itself.

Mark Zuckerberg stated that while he’s apologetic on the losses people must’ve faced due to them, he added that all three of the social media giants are getting operational.

Sorry for the disruption today — I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.

WhatsApp’s official Twitter handle also posted an apology for its users on the platform on Tuesday. They said that they were slowly getting WhatsApp to start working again.

Apologies to everyone who hasn’t been able to use WhatsApp today. We’re starting to slowly and carefully get WhatsApp working again. Thank you so much for your patience. We will continue to keep you updated when we have more information to share.

Millions of reports regarding the social media platforms’ unavailability came around. While the U.S. accounted for about 1.7 million reports, Germany and Netherlands both recorded 1.3 million & 915,000 reports respectively.
