Former President Donald Trump announced in a press conference on July 7th that he will be suing the CEOs of Facebook, Google and Twitter. The class action lawsuit sues Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai.
The lawsuit will not only focus on the ban that the former POTUS faced, but many instances of censorship and ban that many of the individuals have faced on the platforms.
While Trump had used Facebook and Twitter quite extensively to offer up his criticisms on various people and subjects, it was the U.S. Capitol riot that turned the tide and made it seem like the president’s influence on the people was a bad thing.
While Twitter has banned Trump for an undefined amount of time (meaning really, really long) and Facebook has Trump banned for 2 years. Google has kept Trump’s YouTube channel under a ban too.
The class-action lawsuit has the backing of America First Policy Institute, which is composed of the member’s of the Trump administration where their motive is to “conduct research and develop policies that put the American people first.”
