Kanye West has been spending some time in the Middle East recently, for a wide variety of reasons. This includes him spending time with his daughter North West. That said, West landed himself in trouble thanks to his antisemitic song. Now Jewish organizations have come after him in a big way.
As previously reported, Kanye West was recently seen dancing happily to his new song with Ty Dolla $ign, “Vultures,” in which he says, “How I’m anti-semitic? I just f–ked a Jewish b****.” He was also joined by Chris Brown, as both singers were blasted online by many people.
According to TMZ, the Anti-Defamation League, a well-known organization dedicated to fighting antisemitism, expressed their disapproval, stating that it is “disgusting” for Kanye West to use his platform to spread hated against Jews, especially during a time when antisemitism continues to rise globally. They characterized Kanye West as an “unrepentant antisemite and clearly a misogynist.”
Richard Hirschhaut, a spokesperson for the American Jewish Committee, a global advocacy organization for the Jewish people, also voiced his anger. He described Kanye West’s expression of anti-Jewish sentiment as “particularly pathetic and sad.” Hirschhaut emphasized that Kanye’s documented history of constant antisemitism, on top of his latest offensive rap verse, is plain unforgivable.
“To fuel the flames of antisemitism and promote such bile to his millions of followers, especially at this fraught and dangerous time for the Jewish community, is unforgivable.”
Last year, Kanye West made headlines for all the wrong reasons after he wore a ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt during his Yeezy fashion show. Not only that, he came under fire for his recent anti-Semitic remarks. Ye stated that he’ll go “Death Con 3 On Jewish People. Therefore, we sincerely hope West will eventually become a better person and learn from his mistakes. After all, antisemitism in this day and age is simply not something anyone should tolerate.
