John Cena is a household name in the world of professional wrestling and truly carried WWE on his back for so long. He is now a bona fide Hollywood star as well for good reason. That being said, he had humble beginnings and was even fired from his first job for an unfortunate reason.
The Leader of Cenation was not always interested in becoming a professional wrestler and certainly had a long journey ahead of him before he could realize his potential as a professional wrestler.
When Cena started his career in WWE back in 2002, his character was viewed as a very uninspiring babyface with no personality. John Cena, also known as the Doctor of Thuganomics in his early career in sports entertainment, worked various odd jobs before establishing himself in the industry. One of these jobs was working as a limousine driver after he graduated at the age of 19.
Unfortunately, Cena was fired from this job not long after he started. Reflecting on the experience during an interview, Cena acknowledged that working as a limo driver was a humbling experience for him.
“So I was always late, I mean late. I would pick people up two and half hours late for their flight. I earned every single expletive that I was called and I gotta hand it to passengers. They come up with some new stuff that I’d never had heard, and I grew up with four brothers.
I was a limo driver before GPS systems and I did not being a small-town boy, did not know my way around. I thought it was gonna be easy working in a car all day but every pickup was late and every customer was dissatisfied”
John Cena was last seen on the December 30th edition of Friday Night Smackdown. He is set to appear on Monday Night RAW next month as well. We’ll have to see how his appearance will turn out.
