The psychological suspense film Joker was produced and directed by Todd Phillips. In 2019, Joker became a box office phenomenon, earning over $1 billion. In the musical sequel to Joaquin Phoenix’s The Joker, Lady Gaga will portray Harley Quinn. Recently, Margot Robbie expressed her support for Lady Gaga’s casting as Harley Quinn.

During an interview with MTV News, Margot shared her thoughts on Lady Gaga’s casting. The 32-year-old actress expressed that she was excited to see the 36-year-old hitmaker take up the mantle of the supervillain in the upcoming DC Comics movie during the sit-down.

The role was originally played by the Academy Award–nominated actress in both Suicide Squad films as well as the spinoff Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn). Meanwhile, during the MTV interview Robbie began by remarking that she was highly supportive of Lady Gaga’s casting as she wanted to see another actress’ interpretation of Harley Quinn.

“It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning that all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters the way… like Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor.”
