Shakira’s hips aren’t the only things that don’t lie. She doesn’t keep the facts out of public view and lays them out in plain sight. She has now reportedly aimed her recent song’s lyrics toward ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique.

Shakira might be venting about her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique through her brand-new track. She recently released a new song called “Te Felicito” which appears to speak to him and the alleged circumstance. We may infer what she is experiencing from the lyrics, and it is apparent that the song is about Pique.

“To make you whole / I broke myself in pieces / I was warned, but I didn’t take heed / Don’t tell me you’re sorry / I know you well and I know you’re lying.”

When the song was first released, Shakira was directly questioned about its significance. She didn’t dispute that the experiences she goes through are reflected in her music. She told Elle magazine, “Everything I feel, everything I go through is reflected in the lyrics I write, in the videos I make.”

“I can only say that either consciously or subconsciously, everything I feel, everything I go through is reflected in the lyrics I write, in the videos I make. When the glove fits, it fits. Like I said before, my music is that channel.”

Shakira also released a music video for the song. It stars Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro as her love interest. The video contains some creepy and disturbing visuals depicting a new concept about love.

The “Waka Waka” singer didn’t provide in-depth details about her breakup anywhere. She just stated that “everything is so raw and new.” Songs with such lyrics might be the best way to get her emotions out in a healthy way and the fans are up for it.
