Michelle Branch & Patrick Carney Split Up After 3 Years Of Marriage

Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney has a good thing going, but nothing lasts forever. Now they are splitting up after three years of marriage.

Michelle Branch has ended her marriage to The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney. The Grammy Award-winning diva reportedly told TMZ that the news has left her “devastated.”

“To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

Willie Jacquet, Michelle’s third child and second with Patrick, was born on February 2nd, 2022. The musical duo began dating in 2015 and married on April 20th, 2019, at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans. Michelle previously married bassist Teddy Landau, with whom she had her first child, Owen, in 2005, but they split in 2015. In August 2018, she gave birth to her first child with Patrick, a son named Rhys.

If Michelle’s social media messages are to be believed, the news is undoubtedly unexpected. She shared a bold black and white kissing photo with her spouse on May 12th. “She fell in love with the drummer,” she captioned the photo by @brianbowensmith. On June 30, she again shared a photo of Patrick kissing baby Willie in the sun.

Branch also took to the stage in June to commemorate Father’s Day. Michelle captioned a photo of Patrick and Rhys, “This guy makes our world go round and we love him so. I’m sorry you couldn’t play golf yesterday, Patrick!” #FathersDay.”

Michelle gushed about her then-new spouse shortly after their wedding in 2019. “What a dream,” she remarked beside a star emoji on a photo of her special day. She even thanked her friends and family for the occasion.

“Thank you to all of our incredible friends and family for helping us celebrate. We were told we drank an unprecedented 19 liters of tequila last night. Feeling the love.”
