Jake Paul is a sensation who gained all of his recognition via his own initiatives and dedication to his line of work. Paul has raised his popularity so much that his fans eagerly anticipate his fight. Recently, it was revealed that the August 6th fight between Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. has been postponed.

According to the boxing promotion for the Problem Child, Jake Paul’s fight with Hasim Rahman Jr. has been postponed because the 12-1 boxer allegedly didn’t follow through on contractual duties related to his weight. Paul vs. Rahman Jr. was scheduled to take place on August 6th at Madison Square Garden in New York City; however, Most Valuable Promotions canceled the bout just one week beforehand.

Everything is related to Hasim’s weight, who has previously competed in the heavyweight division and is over 260 pounds. Rahman Jr. consented to weigh in the day before the fight with Jake at a maximum of 200 pounds. However, MPV asserts that Rahman Jr. was required to demonstrate to the members of the NY State Athletic Commission that he was losing weight prior to the fight in order to avoid making a significant weight reduction in an effort to reach 200 pounds.

Unfortunately, MVP reports that after agreeing to the fight’s contract more than 3 weeks ago, Hasim has shed less than one pound. The athletic commission decided the bout will be held at 205 pounds as a result of this development. Paul, who weighed 190 pounds for his second match against Woodley, claimed that he was okay with the alteration.

According to MVP, Rahman Jr. later insisted that the weight limit be raised to 215 pounds from the previously agreed-upon 200 pounds. This is where Jake drew the line, and according to MVP, no fight will take place. The promotion made its statement regarding the cancelation of the fight to the fans who were waiting to see this bout.

“MVP and Jake Paul will not reward someone that has conducted themselves in such a deceiving and calculated manner. Therefore, MVP is left no choice but to cancel the August 6th event. This forced outcome impacts Jake Paul, Amanda Serrano and every other fighter on this card who have trained tirelessly over the past few months for this event.”

When the source last spoke with Rahman Jr. a few weeks ago, he appeared to be having issues with weight loss. Jake retaliated at Rahman after the match was called off. Jake even expressed regret for the cancelation to other competitors, teams, and spectators.

“First Tommy Fumbled and now Hasim Rahman Crumbled. These boxers are the most difficult people to work with and continually lack professionalism and confidence to fight me.”

“I apologize to all of the of the other fighters on the card, our partners, our team and the fans.”

Naturally, Hasim wasn’t Jake’s first foe. Tommy Fury was meant to fight there, but Tyson’s brother backed out due to travel-related concerns. It’s uncertain whether Paul will now try to find a new time for the battle with Tommy. What’s your take on it? For further updates, stay tuned to Thirsty.
