Mixed Martial Arts is a tough sport and losing and winning are part of the game. However some fighter just cannot accept their losses, some come up with excuses. An MMA fighter’s post-bout interview at Fury FC 61 had everyone laughing after he made a very interesting excuse for one of his recent losses.

Joel Bauman emerged the victor over Reese Forest in their middleweight bout at Bert Ogden Arena in Texas. After his win, Bauman told the interviewer that the reason he lost his last match was due to a herpes infection. Of course, everyone is finding it hard to believe.

“Last fight I was tired, I was exhausted. I had herpes before that fight, two outbreaks in the span of a week. I’m here, I’m healthy, let’s go, whatever. It doesn’t matter. I fight.”

The match Bauman referenced was his bout with Josh Fremd in February. Surprisingly, this was the second time he had suffered a loss in his entire professional career. This explains his bloated ego finding it hard to accept the result.

The question is how was he even medically cleared to fight while being infected. Whether he was really dealing with herpes or not, hopefully next time he doesn’t fight with underlying the health issues.
