Kim Kardashian’s celebrity status exploded in 2007 when her sex tape with singer Ray J went viral. Kim and her entire family achieved massive mainstream stardom as a result of the titillating tape. Recently, Ray J reignited the conversation related to the infamous sex-tape when he claimed Kardashian and her family marketed the release of the tape.
It appears that Kanye West had no idea that Kim Kardashian already had the only copy of her second sex tape and didn’t know she released “Kim Kardashian: Superstar” herself. Kim’s former lover, Ray J, made the head turning claim in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail.
Ray J claimed that the “Donda” artist only discovered the truth about what really went down during their meet-up in October. The October 8th meeting at Los Angeles International Airport was on full display in the Kardashians’ new Hulu show as the moment Kanye retrieved the tape, despite it always being in Kim’s possession, unfolded on camera.
The outlet revealed the existence of the second sex tape which is listed on the contract she signed with Vivid Entertainment as ‘Tape: Santa Barbara sex’. During Ray J’s meeting with Kanye. Instead of the tape which Kim already had, the rapper was handed a laptop containing ‘intimate’ photos and texts exchanged between her and Ray J between 2006 and 2009.
Ray J also claimed that he was not paid, despite Kanye’s later claims of extortion. Ray handed over the contents of the laptop to allay Kim’s fears.
“Kim didn’t tell him, ‘Look I put the tape out with Ray J, it was a business deal, we both ran it together, we were business partners and we still are business partners. There’s really no problem with Ray J'”.
Despite the Kardashian Hulu series portraying Kanye as a savior of the footage, Ray claims he never had any of the tapes in his possession. The ongoing drama makes for good reality television, but it’s hard to know who to believe. Will the drama ever stop? Only Time will tell. Stay tuned to Thirsty.
