Dave Chappelle getting attacked during a comedy set at the Hollywood bowl created a shockwave in the industry. The show was loaded not just with fans but also with several high-profile names.

When the security guard first caught Chappelle’s attacker, he received quite a beating from Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx among other people. Those were not the only big names present at the event.

The entire altercation that unfolded at the Netflix event was witnessed by Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Elon Musk from front row seats, according to Page Six. This just goes on to show how wildly popular Chappelle is.

“They were seated in the front row along with Elon Musk when Chappelle was attacked at his show,” a source told the outlet. “There was no security near them at the time. That crazy guy could have easily turned around and decided to attack Beyoncé instead.”

“Everyone freaked out that a man rushed the stage with what looked like a gun.” However, the couple was reportedly “more concerned about Dave. Beyoncé gasped in horror, then their security came racing over to usher them to a safe backstage area, which was immediately locked down.”

Fortunately, for Chappelle, he was unharmed after the attacker tackled him. The attacker himself is a different story, he got his arms broken from all the beating he received. Chris Rock who was also present there joked about the incident making a reference to Will Smith. The show continued as if nothing happened.
