Jennifer Grey, who starred in Dirty Dancing, has spoken out about her brief engagement to Johnny Depp. Grey met the Pirates of the Caribbean actor on a blind date set up by Grey’s agent in 1989, two years after Dirty Dancing was released. It seems Grey called out Depp for being crazy jealous and paranoid.

When they were together, Depp began getting into trouble, according to the actor, with fights in bars and skirmishes with cops. She described their first date in her memoir Out of the Corner. She claimed that Depp proposed to her within two weeks of meeting her, and the couple adopted a pekinese-poodle puppy named Lulu.

We ate, talked, drank Jack Daniels, laughed our asses off, took cigarette breaks midcourse. He was so ridiculously beautiful. And surprisingly open, funny, quirky and sweet…  She [Lulu] was our practice baby and someone to keep me company when Johnny was out of town.

Right after that, things started going south. Johnny started getting into more troubles and ran into more fights at the bar. Grey then said that he started to miss flights and overslept. As a result, Depp became crazy jealous and paranoid about what she was doing while he was away.

She ended her engagement to Depp just before her 29th birthday, after he left for a meeting and did not return or contact her for several hours. Depp’s representatives have been contacted for comment by The Independent. Depp is currently on trial for defamation against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
