Gilbert Gottfried was one of the most beloved actors and comedians in the history of Hollywood. Gottfried sadly passed away at the age of 67 last week. We haven’t heard the last of Gilbert Gottfried yet. There is apparently unreleased footage of the comedian in his role as the cunning parrot Iago in Disney’s “Aladdin,” as well as 200 hours of content on his Cameo website.

John Musker and Ron Clements, co-directors of the 1992 animated film, thought Robin Williams’ humorous blue genie needed a great counterpoint to compliment his character. And it was Gottfried who was responsible for bringing the wicked bird to life.

Gottfried was also a top earner on Cameo, a video app where fans can request personalized messages from their favorite celebrities. Viewers had to pay $175 every video, but it was money well spent because he received a lot of five-star evaluations for his work on the app.

Hackers sought to profit from the projected surge in interest in Gilbert Gottfried’s social media accounts shortly after his death was revealed. Gottfried’s Twitter account was purportedly hacked just hours after his family revealed his death. It was even removed for a short time.

In total, the comedian recorded over 12,000 Cameo messages, earning him over $2 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he created around 200 hours of videos before his death. Gottfried’s work ethic helped him become one of the software’s highest-paid employees, and Galanis congratulated him for it.
