Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away while the band was on tour in South America. His tragic death is believed to be drug related, and his band has now cancelled their tour and returned home. This was a very sad homecoming, indeed.

Dave Grohl, along with his band came back to L.A. from Bogota after the sudden departure of their friend and drummer, Taylor Hawkins. Dave and his band members, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, Samantha Sidley, and crew appeared to be emotional after reaching L.A. There’s also a picture of Dave hugging a man who is probably their manager, John Silva.

Taylor Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room on Friday when the group was in San Paulo to play Lollapalooza Sunday. Based on a few findings, it looks like Taylor may have overdosed on 10 different types of drugs, which eventually lead to his death.

Although the cause of Taylor’s death has not been officially confirmed yet, it is known that he had opioids, tricyclic, antidepressants, and benzodiazepines in his system.

Just less than a week ago, Grohl told a massive crowd at Lollapalooza Argentina about what an amazing drummer Taylor was. “Best drummer in the biz,” Dave bragged about his friend. He then asked Taylor to join him on the stage to sing and show off his fly outfit.

An amazing man was taken away too soon. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
