Taylor Hawkins was one of the most characteristic members of the Dave Grohl-led Foo Fighters. The alternative rock-grunge band have been one of the most consistent bands to continuously deliver one great album after another. Hawkins’ passing has been tremendously saddening for millions of their fans.

The Grammy-winning band’s drummer passed away while the band toured South America. The untimely death of the 50-year old drummer still has the authorities working on figuring out all the leads.

The Metropolitan Police of Bogota released a statement, according to The Sun, saying that while the cause of death is still unclear. Those close to the drummer suggest that consumption of drugs may have played a role in his sudden demise.

The cause of death has yet to be established. According to those close to him, the death could be related to the consumption of drugs.

Hawkins’ son Oliver reported his death. While the details from the investigation are still being figured out, the authorities suspect that drugs could be at play here. Nothing is certain however, as a thorough autopsy is needed.

Foo Fighters was formed after the death of Nirvana’s frontman Kurt Cobain. After the legendary musical icon’s death, Dave Grohl, who was the drummer of Nirvana, formed Foo Fighters as a one-man band. Foo Fighter has won 12 Grammys throughout their long career, with four being for Best Rock Album.

This is a shocking loss for the entire world, especially the rock community. RIP.
