Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney quickly became a fan favorite duo from Vanderpump Rules. However, the couple called it quits earlier this week. Tom Schwartz is now opening up about the break up while taking all the blame.

Days after confirming they are ending their marriage, both Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz opened up about their decision to split. Katie went into detail about ending her 12-year relationship and nearly six-year marriage to Tom in an emotional interview on her You’re Going to Love Me podcast. Now, Tom is sharing his side of the story.

According to E! news, Tom Schwartz was spotted at Home Depot just one day after he and wife Katie Maloney confirmed their breakup. The Vanderpump Rules star talked to a celebrity photographer about the end of his marriage outside of the Home Depot in Los Angeles on Wednesday. When asked if Tom Sandoval had anything to do with the breakup, Schwartz replied “No, no that’s all on me… that’s all on me.” Tom said he wishes he had a scapegoat.

“It’s complicated, obviously,” he said about the breakup. “But nothing in particular. You know, life, you know. It’s complicated.” he was asked if the split will affect Vanderpump Rules.

Schwartz said, “I don’t know what the future of the show holds. I’m always optimistic, eternally. And yeah, I’m doing OK. I’m staying busy.” The reality star said he’s been busy working to prepare for the opening of his and Bravo co-star Tom Sandoval’s new bar.

Schwartz and Maloney have been legally married since 2019 after first exchanging vows in 2016 in a ceremony that lacked legal paperwork. Since then, most of the couples in their Vanderpump Rules friend group have had kids. Tom and Katie expressed their plans of having kids too but it seems like that is not a possibility anymore.
