UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is a household name in the world of MMA right now. Fans and peers alike consider him the pound-for-pound world’s best fighter for good reason. Usman also wants a boxing match with Canelo Alvarez.

Usman made his debut in MMA back in 2012 against David Glover, with the fight taking place in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance 5. Usman would get a second-round TKO win in the fight.

For a long time now, fans have been wondering whether Kamaru Usman will ever duke it out against boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez. Fans also believe the possible match could be much better than Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather.

While speaking to MMA Junkie, the UFC Welterweight Champion explained how his boxing match against Canelo Alvarez will be different from Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. Usman believes he and Alvarez will not be as defensive in their boxing match.

“Mayweather-McGregor, they entertained people with the way they talked and the way they walked. We know Conor, the way he entertains, so does Floyd… But Floyd is the absolute best defensive fighter we’ve ever seen… I’m a fighter, I’m gonna come to fight. I’m always marching forward to fight. So is Canelo Alvarez. He’s marching forward to fight. He’s not sitting here just trying to dodge punches the whole time. Even though he does dodge punches, he’s not trying to do that the whole time.”

Fans are waiting with bated breath when it comes to Kamaru Usman squaring off against Canelo Alvarez. It remains to be seen whether that will ever happen or not.
