Modern Family was the quintessential American sitcom for the 2010s. Many have compared it to a more progressive “Married with Children.” The huge ensemble cast gave fans a ton of laughs during the show’s 11-season run. Sarah Hyland doesn’t remember large portions of it.

Sarah suffers from kidney dysplasia. The talented actress has had to undergo two kidney transplants. Those health issues made starring on a hugely successful television show very difficult.

Sarah Hyland talked to Julie Bowen on the Quitters podcast recently. Hyland said that the fatigue from her condition and procedures completely wiped her out. She does not remember entire episodes.

“There are some episodes of Modern Family where I do not remember filming because I was asleep. Dead ass asleep. The episode where Haley asked [Luke for] money and he’s like, ‘Don’t worry, I’ve got it on ice.’ It’s in the freezer or something. The entire episode I was asleep.”
