Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine sent shockwaves throughout the world. Russia is making an obvious attempt to upset the order of the world as we know it. Ukrainians have found themselves in harm’s way in a war that nobody outside of the Kremlin wanted. There have been several efforts to offer help, but some of Ukraine’s population remains marginalized.

Reports have surfaced that African immigrants in Ukraine have been receiving unfair treatment at border crossings. Those trying to flee have been met with “Ukrainians first” policies, leaving them trapped in the war-torn nation. Thousands of students from Africa live in Ukraine where they can study high-end subjects at affordable tuition prices.

Young Thug heard about the crisis and has decided to take action. Thugger made a post on his Instagram Story on Sunday offering support for Africans who find themselves trapped in the hot zone. Thug issued a call to arms to other rappers to join the movement.

“If some of my rap brothers are in I’m willing to help Africans get out of Ukraine however I can sence they are not letting us pass. Who ever holds the info for these movements please contact me ASAP I’m ready.”

Fellow YSL artist Gunna also expressed his support. The “Pushin’ P” meme even came into play as the rapper urged followers to pray for Ukraine. Cardi B has also been heavily critical of Putin’s aggression.

Time will tell if other rappers like Gunna and Cardi join Young Thug in his effort to help. Real people are standing in harm’s way that can’t find refuge because of where they’re from. They didn’t choose to take part in this invasion. Young Thug is looking for a way to get them out.
