Joe Rogan has been wrapped with a lot of controversies since the start of this month and late January. Making headlines left and right for his controversial takes ranging from misinformation to racism allegations. Spotify hosts Joe Rogan’s podcast on their platform.

The storm around Joe Rogan led some people to cancel their subscriptions and artists to pull their music from the streaming giant. This led to Spotify deleting a bunch of episodes of Rogan’s podcast from their platform. In the wake of this, a right-wing video site offered to pay Rogan $100 million to switch platforms.

It was previously known that Joe Rogan had signed to Spotify for 100 million dollars to put exclusive content on the platform. However, it seems that this specific price is not the case. Also, Rogan rejected the $100 million he was offered to jump platforms.

According to The New York Times, people familiar with the transaction details between Joe Rogan and Spotify revealed that the deal between the long-time UFC commentator and the streaming giant is worth $200 million. That’s twice the amount of what was initially assumed!

Reports further detail the deal to host Rogan’s podcast on Spotify is only for about three years. This new information is sure to rile up things again. As previously noted, some medical professionals and personalities have called out to Spotify to remove Rogan from the platform. Spotify’s CEO, however, doesn’t want to censor the podcaster as he believes it’s not the answer.
