Ben Simmons couldn’t have been more unhappy as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Simmons has refused to play a second of basketball all season after expressing his dissatisfaction with the team’s medical staff. Philly GM Daryl Morey has been waiting all year for the right opportunity for a mutually beneficial parting of ways between Ben and the franchise.

That was found just before today’s NBA trade deadline. In a blockbuster deal, the Brooklyn Nets sent an unhappy James Harden to the Sixers and acquired Simmons in return. Judging by the reaction on Twitter, Brooklyn fans are thinking championship after the huge trade.

“Awful trade? Brooklyn will now win it all. Drummond and Curry are both very good and Simmons will ball out”

“First came the invention of sliced bread. Then came the Simmons trade…”

“Simmons Trade is an A for the Nets”

“Im so happy about this trade…We got rid of a mal content on the downside of his career…Picked up the great Ben Simmons and Seth Curry and got draft Picks..i see it as a Fleece Job yo”

The Nets are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race. Ben Simmons being added and the subtraction of a frustrated James Harden should benefit the team greatly. We’ll see if the addition can add up to a championship in Brooklyn.
