The Ben Simmons saga could be coming to an end as the NBA trade deadline is only one day away. Simmons has refused to play for the Philadelphia 76ers this year because he feels uncomfortable with the team’s medical staff. The Sixers have responded with heavy fines, and Simmons is quickly going broke.

The best scenario for the fans, the team, and Ben Simmons himself is a trade. The team has tried to shop Ben throughout the season. Joel Embiid has become frustrated with the situation. Something has to give.

Shaun Powell of NBA.com recently analyzed the prospects for a Simmons trade. Philadelphia has thus far passed on possible deals with Portland and Sacramento. General manager Daryl Morey is holding out for way more than they could offer.

“But Simmons was, and still is, the most valuable trade chip in the league, and the Sixers’ reluctance to send him to Portland or Sacramento is further evidence that Morey is sticking to his guns and holding out for a much better deal.

Question is, were those deals the best the Sixers could’ve hoped to receive for Simmons? How many other GMs would’ve pounced if put in that same position?”

Morey is looking to get the maximum return on Ben Simmons. The Sixers are playing very good basketball even without him. The patient approach could backfire if a deal isn’t done by the Thursday trade deadline. Philadelphia fans have their fingers crossed.
