Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were two of the prime players on their teams, the New England Patriots and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski won four Super Bowls together during their NFL careers, but their connection extends far beyond the field. The bromance between these two players was carried out throughout the year.

Brady stunned New England sports fans when he announced his departure from the Patriots in March 2020 for the Florida-based team. The Entourage guest actor and University of Michigan alumnus aren’t just friends. They have a strong bond that dates back to Massachusetts. They were teammates for eight years with the Patriots before being moved to the Buccaneers in 2020, a move tight end Rob Gronkowski says WEEI-FM wasn’t planned.

“As a player, you always want to see what it is like somewhere else. [I] thought of that before, definitely after playing nine years in the NFL and I also thought about it when I came out of retirement. But no, we never really talked about that before. It kind of just happened. With my retirement and him hitting free agency, it just kind of lined up like that.”

Fans adore them on and off the field, regardless of whose side they represent. Fans flood the comments sections after seeing their companionship.

“Best friend vibes like Gronk & Brady.”

“I’m an embittered Texans fan, but I have to admit, I still find the Brady-Gronk BFF thing kinda charming.”

Gronkowski was one of the friends who praised Brady for his prior achievements when it came time for him to hang up his cleats for good in February 2022.

“Thank you for your dedication to the game, putting the team in the best possible position to win every year, all the record[s] that were broken, the Super Bowls, the memories, and your friendship through the last 12 years.”

Gronkowski and Brady have surely gotten into some mischief after years of friendship.

“I actually took his Bumpboxx [Bluetooth boombox] away from him and gave it to one of the cafeteria workers. I was like, ‘Tom, you don’t need the Bumpboxx.’ And he agreed. I was like, ‘You’re a good guy.’ And then he gave me sunglasses.”

When asked about his favorite off-field moment with Brady, Gronkowski told ESPN reporter Jenna Laine a humorous anecdote.

“I would just say going to the Kentucky Derby and seeing him take a shot. Just seeing his face after, like disgust, like, ‘I’m putting this alcohol in my body.'”

After Brady was moved from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in early 2020, there were speculations that he wanted to bring Gronkowski back into the fold. Brady uploaded a video on Twitter shortly after the announcement, along with a heartfelt message for his old comrade, in April 2020.

Fans saw their bromance throughout the year. Tom Brady’s friendship is very deep with Rob Gronkowski and fans hope it will be continued long.
