The Weeknd received some high praise from a heavy hitter in the music industry. The singer released “Dawn FM,” his latest offering, on January 7th. The record has already received fan and critical acclaim.

The Weeknd hoped to fuse new wave R&B, rap, and dance music on Dawn FM. The album will likely debut atop the Billboard 200. Famed producer Timbaland discussed his thoughts on the new release on Instagram.

“Yo, this album’s different, yo. This sh*t right here, this on some Thriller sh*t. Trust me when I tell you. And the way he dropped this sh*t? Yo, this sh*t is amazing!”

Michael Jackson’s Thriller was the world’s best-selling album of all time for years. It was finally passed up in 2018 by The Eagles’ Greatest Hits. Thriller sold 33 million albums and changed pop music forever.
