JID Once Delivered Killer Mike Pizza From Dominos

JID has become one of the leading and critically acclaimed artists to come out of the Dreamville roster. The Atlanta rapper behind the much-lauded project DiCaprio 2 was apparently a pizza delivery guy for Domino’s.

The rapper/singer has garnered a lot of recognition lately gaining features with mainstream artists like Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Khalid and Imagine Dragons. JID is no stranger to HipHop heads though, the J.Cole protégé was even nominated for Best Rap Performance in the 2020 Grammy’s.

Its inspiring to witness JID’s journey to fame. In his 2019 interview with Nardwuar and a recent talk with HipHopDX the rapper confirmed an interesting anecdote from his old days.

Prior to becoming famous JID delivered Pizza to fellow Atlanta rapper Killer Mike’s Barbershop. JID mentioned that Mike obviously didn’t know of this fact before he narrated it to him. JID has come a long way though, he said that Killer Mike is like his mentor now. Mike is always there to help the young rapper out with guidance and advice.

The insanely talented Killer Mike is also known for his inspiring work as a social and political activist, focusing on subjects including social inequality, police brutality, and systemic racism. Killer Mike’s Barbershop aims to “lift up men in the community who are out of work and help move them toward sustainable, lifelong careers” and give his employees “opportunity for real economic elevation”.
