After the tragic murder of Jacqueline Avant, the wife of music legend Clarence Avant, fans were left with plenty of questions. Neighbors immediately began to beef up security, wondering if they could be next. Avant went from being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to losing his wife to a senseless crime in such a short time.

The shocking news might be offset by the delivery of swift justice. TMZ is now reporting that a suspect has been taken into custody for Jacqueline’s murder. Sources with direct knowledge who are close to the family confirmed the arrest.

81-year-old Jackie was inside the couple’s Trousdale Estates home when at least one person broke into the home. They entered through a glass door, which they broke. There, they shot and killed her.

The suspect also shot at a private security guard who was on duty at the time. The guard didn’t return fire. It is unknown if he was armed. Fortunately, Clarence was not harmed in the attack.
