America’s Next Top Model” contestants are coming forward with claims against Tyra Banks. Banks, who was the judge in the show and a leading face of the show, received heavy payments through the show. However, the contestants of the show were given measly stipends.

Sarah Hartshorne, who was the contestant of the show in Season 9 as a former plus-size model revealed the accusations to the New York Post. Hartshorne claimed that their daily stipend was $38, which they had to use in order to pay for food.

We were given a $38 daily cash stipend that we had to use to pay for our own food. And they didn’t even give us a microwave to heat the food up.

Tyra Banks is currently receiving a wave of backlash on social media. Reports suggest that Banks, who created and hosted the show, earned a shocking $30 million in the year on the show.

Criticism against the CW reality TV series point out the exploitative nature of the show, saying that it pits up and coming talent against each other for profits, while paying them next to nothing.

Banks is no stranger to criticism online. While there are many tweets on calling out Tyra Banks, other users are now pointing out long it’s been that people keep criticizing Banks while doing nothing about it.
