Rolling Loud California will be for adults only. After the mass carnage that resulted in ten deaths at Travis Scott‘s Astroworld festival in Houston, the organizers of the hip-hop festival are taking no chances. For the security of everybody in volved, next month’s Rolling Loud California will be an 18+ affair.

HotNewHipHop reported the news. Rolling Loud made the announcement on Twitter. The festival takes place in San Bernardino from December 10 to December 12. Any ticket holders under the age of 18 can get a full refund or roll their ticket over to the 2022 edition of the festival.

“We welcome everyone to experience our festivals, however, in light of recent events, we will be implementing an 18+ policy specific only to our upcoming 2021 California festival. We will be giving all ticket purchasers who are under the age of 18 the option to either roll their tickets over to next year’s 2022 California festival or receive a refund.

Refund or rollover requests must be made through the original purchaser’s front gate account during the period beginning November 23rd at 9am PST and ending November 26th at 12PM PST. Additional information will be made available on our FAQs at rollingloud.com/help.”

It’s a bummer for young hip-hop fans, but the organizers are doing what they think is best for safety. Several young people, including children, were injured or killed at Astroworld. The promoters are hoping to prevent that by only welcoming a more mature audience.

The festival is headlined by Kid Cudi, J. Cole, and Future. Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Chris Brown, Kodak Black, Gunna, Playboy Carti and more are also scheduled to perform. It’s a who’s who of rap music.

Would you attend a festival like Rolling Loud after seeing what happened at Astroworld? Let us know in the comments!
