Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for only 73 yards against the New England Patriots. He was already suffering from a sore shoulder. During the game, he added a knee injury to the scorecard.

Mayfield was limping on the walk from facility to the post-game media session. He said he was feeling pretty sore, but thought he’d be alright. He said the accumulation of injuries is the worst he’s ever experienced, according to Pro Football Talk.

“Probably the most beat up I’ve been. Multiple things, not just one.”

Mayfield hopes to start for the Browns against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Detroit is riding high, coming off their first non-loss of the season. They tied the Pittsburgh Steelers to “improve” to 0-8-1.

Baker has had a mediocre season to this point. While he’s thrown for 1,990 yards, he’s only connected for 9 touchdowns. Last year, he threw 26 touchdowns to only 8 interceptions.

The injuries may be the reason for Baker Mayfield’s drop in productivity. As the season goes on, they will continue to add up. The Browns have a merciful bye week coming two weeks later, but Detroit and the Baltimore Ravens stand between.
