Kal Penn Is Down For Cardi B To Officiate His Wedding

Kal Penn recently made headlines by announcing his engagement to boyfriend Josh, and now he says Cardi B may be the one to officiate the wedding.

Penn appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week and said the wedding idea came up after he and Cardi B were on the same flight from New York to Los Angeles. He revealed a dream he had while on the flight.

We were flying to L.A. for some book promotion stuff but I noticed Cardi B was on the flight. It’s an early flight from New York. I was like, ‘Yo, Cardi B. I have to go say hello.’ And then promptly fell asleep and had a dream that Cardi officiated our wedding on the plane itself and then we held hands walking out of LAX—the three of us, together.

Penn never got the chance to say hello to Cardi B, but he did tweet about the dream he had. He said he chose not to tag Cardi in the tweet because “it might be tacky.”

He tweeted, “Cardi B was on my flight to LA. I fell asleep and had a dream that she officiated our wedding on the plane and the three of us walked out of LAX holding hands.”

Cardi quote-tweeted the post by Penn and responded with, “First, why didn’t you say hi! Second, I’m licensed to do that sooo……..let me know.”

Penn then responded, “You’re the best. Was gonna say hi but didn’t want to be disrespectful (your do not disturb light was on). But holy shit let’s do it! We’re down if you’re down!”

“I’m down I’ll get my suit,” Cardi wrote, ending the exchange.

Cardi B is licensed to officiate weddings… who knew? The rapper may be in for a wild wide as Penn joked to Kimmel that traditional Indian weddings can go for 10 days.

Penn is making the media rounds to promote his new book, You Can’t Be Serious. He recently opened up about his sexuality, revealing that he and Josh have been together for 11 years.
